SPY ISPA !
Being a spa lover I was excited to be going to the 2013 ISPA Conference & Expo at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. This is the premier spa industry event where spa professional from all-over the globe flock to. It’s where industry leaders come to gain in-depth knowledge into the latest spa innovations, explore new business tactics and grow as a spa community.
The highlight for me was the expo floor. This is where the big-guns of beauty showcase the latest in spa products and treatments and most importantly where the relaxation area was for the tired and weary to drop in for a refreshing drink and pamper – I was in beauty heaven!
I was pampered from head-to-toe, starting at the Clarisonic nail bar where I was treated to a pedicure with the newest addition to their range, the Pedi Sonic Foot Transformation. This beauty gadget removes every bit of dry skin from the soles of your feet and the continuous oscillation massages away aches and pains. As promised, my feet were baby smooth when I left.
My next stop was a facial with Sanitas Skincare, a range of cosmetics that I was not familiar with but certainly now love! I was given a deep exfoliation followed by a luscious application of two different types of masques that felt like silk on my skin. Now that my skin was glowing, I felt I needed a little make-up, so I made my way to the Jane Iredale make-up stand where the make-up artist meticulously applied their signature make-up base, mascara, blush and lip-gloss.
I was now ready to visit my favorite brands and see what new offerings they had…Le Mieux has the most comprehensive range of serums for every skin concern. ( I can’t live without their TGF-B Booster Serum.) Hydro-Peptide who’s HydroStem+6 just won best Peptide product and PRIORI the anti ageing authority that offers everything from cosmeceuticals to lash serums.
Another highlight of the ISPA expo was the morning general sessions where we where entertained by entrepreneurs such as, Bill Rancic who walked us through his humble beginnings with much humor. Marketing expert, Gerry O’Brion who’s fun and thought-provoking dialogue left us wanting more and one of the most entertaining speakers, Janet Lapp, a registered nurse and psychologist who used her many husbands as references causing explosive laughter and a standing ovation.
This year’s theme, Grow, certainly resonated with ISPA attendees as they were challenged to cultivate their business and soul, and to grow the mind, body and spirit.
