When you think of false lashes, the big, bold and dramatic full sets often spring to mind.

I am personally not much of a ‘Glamazon’. I am in the ocean most days and I would say my beauty routine is kept low maintenance, but when I was invited for an appointment with lash queen Michelle Rowland of LA Lash, I was excited to experience her amazing work that I had heard such great things about and to see my lashes grow to new heights.

The talented Australian makeup artist worked for many years before relocating to Hollywood where her lash journey flourished. Michelle worked on building a network around her, landing her lashing gigs on star clients and working on many film and television productions.

Michelle soon became a certified educator and was eager to reach her business goals and train others on her unique lashing techniques.

LA Lash stemmed from a client experience when Michelle landed back in Sydney. Her experience, both triumphs and fails, drove her to work harder and hit the ground running to develop her lash academy,

With that all said, when Michelle and I finally meet, we mostly chat about her travels, clients and the in’s and out’s of the lash industry. Over the course of my appointment, she explains the myths around lashing and takes me through my treatment of a full set of extensions.

After our consultation, I let Michelle do her thing while I lay and relaxed. Another part of her work that Michelle loves as she explains it, is about “designing a set of lash extensions specifically for that client’s facial structure, eye shape and personal taste.”

I was amazed with what Michelle had done for me. My results reflected that perfectly as she understood what suited my personality and lifestyle.

I discovered there is more than meets the eye when it comes to lashes and a few things Michelle shared with me for keeping my lashes is prime condition were:

No mascara, no worries.

No mascara required while lashes are on. It will damage the fibres, look and feel and why ruin a good thing?

Cleaning is key.

Keeping your lashes clean with regular face washing is important to avoid bacteria build up, infection and to keep your lashes looking their best.

Brush, brush, brush.

Brushing your lashes daily with a spoolie brush is essential for maintaining

There are serums, tools and products  you can also find for amazing lash results without a  professional treatment too.
