Beachy waves are an effortless summer hair look that can be oh so easy to master! Beloved Australian hair & makeup artist Jessica Berg @jessberghairandmakeup takes us through the steps to create this hair style.
Step 1. Section and Texturize
We start with clean, dry hair. Jess will choose the right products for the look. ‘It’s all about knowing your hair.’ Using the appropriate tools and products for this look will make it so much easier to master and ensure the style has enough hold but remains soft to touch. Section half the head and clip up, working with the bottom section first. Dampen the hair with products that will add texture to the hair and help the waves hold in place. |

Step 2. Dry and Prep
Using a hairdryer, Jess continues to work with the same sections of hair, drying product completely into the hair for that extra staying power.
The power of the Dyson means less work and faster drying time. ‘It’s light to carry so saves my arms.’

Step 3. Style and Finish
Part the hair again in two halves, working with the bottom half of hair first. Work with small sections of about 2cm. Start at mid-length, wrapping sections of hair around the wand in a downwards motion and sliding it down to the tip of the strand to avoid getting a really blunt end. Finish with a strong-hold hairspray that will keep the style in place without making it feel crunchy. |
